The winner of this auction will receive 8 unsexed Dutch Owlbeard day-old chicks from Greenfire Farms!

SHIPPING

The expected ship date for this auction is Tuesday, 3/28. Be prepared to receive your chicks within 1-3 days from your ship date. In the event that we are significantly short on the hatch, your order will be rescheduled within 3 weeks (see details below).

It is your responsibility to schedule and organize the pick up of your chicks, plan your bid accordingly.

We cannot ship orders won at auction to Hawaii, we’re sorry! There is simply not enough time for us to apply for and obtain the required permit.

IN THE EVENT OF A SHORTAGE

If we are short on the hatch by a few chicks (within reason), we will refund you for the shortage on a prorata basis and your order will still be shipped unless the shortage puts the shipment under our shipping minimum. If the hatch is significantly short, we will reschedule the order to a new hatch date within 3 weeks. If you prefer to receive a breed substitution in the event of a shortage please send us a message as soon as the auction closes. We will honor requests if possible but we will ultimately choose a comparable breed that is available (i.e. egg layer for egg layer, gamefowl for gamefowl, dual purpose for dual purpose).

PAYMENT

Please pay at the close of auction to avoid a delay in the shipment of your chicks. All chicks are shipped at day-old. If you do not pay for your chicks in time for Monday’s shipping we will NOT hold the chicks to ship another day while we wait for your payment. Please follow the “direct pay with PayPal” link at the close of auction.

The winning bidder pays $40 for shipping. We will ship USPS Priority Express. Orders are not guaranteed to arrive overnight.

If you win multiple auctions we will combine the orders IF POSSIBLE. Keep in mind that the $40 shipping charge is for a box that holds up to 20 chicks (give or take depending on time of year and size of chick). Additional shipping charges will apply if larger/multiple shipping boxes are required. We do not guarantee that shipping can be combined or that chicks will ship in the same week. Each auction is processed as a separate order. Please pay the total amount due, including postage, to avoid a shipping delay. We will refund unused shipping charges if applicable.

GENERAL INFORMATION

NPIP: 58-1156-E. Your copy of the NPIP VS form 9-3 will be attached to your shipping confirmation email for your records. We will file a copy with the state. This is required.

Chicks will be vaccinated for Marek’s Disease.

You are bidding on 8 unsexed Dutch Owlbeard day-old chicks from Greenfire Farms. The merits of each bird should be evaluated as they reach adulthood.

This website is a service intended to benefit our country's livestock and the people who raise it. In order for this community to thrive and achieve our mission, its necessary that all registered members adhere to a Code of Conduct that ensures fair trade. By registering as a member you agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, and any violations of the Code of Conduct will result in being banned from this site and such other legal action as may be required. The Code of Conduct is as follows:

  1. A person may not create multiple accounts.
  2. A seller may not bid on his or her own auction and may not coordinate with family and friends to do so.
  3. A winning bid creates a legally binding contact, and winning bidders are required to pay the seller. If you have questions about an animal being auctioned the time to ask those questions is well before the close of the auction. Doubts, unanswered questions, second-guessing, an unanticipated or sudden change in personal circumstances, or buyer's remorse are not valid reasons for a winning bidder to refuse to pay after an auction closes.
  4. Read the text of the auction carefully before you bid. Once you bid your bid cannot be undone. Your bid is a legally binding offer to the seller, and if you are the high bidder your offer is automatically accepted and becomes a legally binding contract under which you are obligated to pay the seller.
  5. Sellers may not use other people's photos, breed descriptions, or trade names without their express written permission. Copyright violations are not allowed.
  6. Sellers must accurately describe the animal they are selling including the pedigree of the animal.
  7. When giving feedback a person must accurately describe the facts that support the feedback rating.
  8. In order to be valid, feedback must be posted by sellers within seven days after payment is due and for buyers within seven days after the birds or eggs are shipped.
  9. A person may not send profane or harassing messages about an auction.
  10. A seller advertising imported poultry must be prepared to provide a copy of the USDA import permit proving the legal importation of the poultry. Only legally imported poultry may be sold at auction.
  11. A seller or buyer may not use an auction or RBA-related tools to negotiate direct sales outside of an auction. This includes asking buyers to "gift" money via PayPal.
  12. A seller may not pre-sell hatching eggs or day-old chicks with a shipment date more than four weeks after the auction ends.
  13. This is a community. Be POLITE and courteous. If you are rude, you may be asked to leave.
  14. A seller will comply with all relevant government regulations including those related to the shipping of live birds and NPIP compliance.
