Description

The rare chick breeds you will be receiving in this auction are:

FrenchCrevecoeur - Crevecoeur is a breed of bearded, crested chicken with a V horn shaped comb from Normandy, in north-western France. They are among the oldest French breeds of chicken and are considered in Critical Status by the Livestock Conservancy.

The Crevecoeur was traditionally kept as a dual-purpose chicken, raised both for its large white eggs and for its high quality meat. Today they are primarily raised for exhibition showing.

The Crevecoeur chicks and chickens are one our favorite chicken breed here on our farm. We love them for their sweet curious personalities and unusual appearance. We have the Blue and Black varieties of this breed. They lay lots of large white eggs and they love to be with their people.

French Barbezieux - Barbezieux originated in the Middle Ages in France. They are known as the tallest chicken in Europe and for their exceptional premium meat quality. We enjoy their elegant beauty and abundance of extra large eggs.

Siberian Pavlovskaya -The Siberian Pavlovskaya is Russia’s most ancient chicken breed (1729 – 1796). They are considered an ornamental bird since it’s an ultra-rare breed not only in the USA, but in the world. They are known to be a lively medium sized breed with almost horizontal body, very high tail, full beard, muffs, and breed specific crest. They are extremely cold hardy and have feathered covered legs and toes. Their four toes are slightly covered with soft feathers and their beautiful colorful plumage is dense and close to the body. They lay white eggs and seem to enjoy interacting with their people.

Basque Hen (Euskal Oiloa) - The Basque Hen chickens are a good medium sized dual purpose breed that is friendly, attractive and productive. They are very friendly, intelligent, and lay a surprisingly large light brown egg for the size of the hen. They are a great free ranging and foraging breed and do equally well in a smaller coop and run.

They originate from the mountainous regions of Spain and France. This breed will thrive in difficult conditions that would kill less hardy breeds.

The chicks in this action hatched on 7/1/20 and 7/6/20.

They are started and doing quite well.

We sell a lot of rare breed hatching eggs and do fertility hatches on a regular basis to be sure of the fertility of our shipped eggs. You will receive an assortment of 10+ of these wonderful chicks.

Check the Photos to see the parents of these chicks.

The parents of these chicks were purchased direct from Greenfire Farms

Our farm is Missouri State inspected, tested, and NPIP certified.

Guaranteed to arive alive.
